What is Spiritualism?

Spiritualists believe that the spirits of the dead can be contacted and communicated with. A medium is a person who is able to receive messages from the afterlife. There are different ways in which these messages can be identified.

Through clairvoyance the spirit can appear visually, be heard or a spirit presence can be felt. Because medium's practices are purely experimental, events and results cannot be guaranteed. The Spiritualists National Union helps to regulate churches and people practicing as Mediums.

Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance is the ability to interpret information from an object, location or event via a form of extra-sensory perception. A person said to have the ability of clairvoyance is referred to as a clairvoyant ("one who sees clear").

Clairaudience is a medium or psychic who can hear the voice of the spirit person is said to be clairaudient.

Clairsentience One who is able to feel or sense spirit is referred to as clairsentient.

Clairalience is the ability to recognize a spirits presence by smell, this is usually related to the spirit present, an example of this could be their favourite perfume.

Claircognizance is to know something without knowing how or why, just to know.

Clargustance is when a psychic has the ability to taste a substance without putting anything in one's mouth.

Most mediums/psychics may possess some or all of the above gifts with
one or more being the most dominant.
